14 - 17 February 2023
Environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis uses the power of DNA sequences to offer a rapid, universal and cost-effective way to measure biodiversity, detect pests, and much more. Not only is eDNA science a fast-moving and innovative field, but increasingly, government agencies and industry are adopting it to support environmental management.
Without a doubt, eDNA is changing the face of biological measurement, and now is a pivotal time to engage deeply with the community. Whether you are a practitioner, end-user of environmental information, manager, or policymaker, we hope you will join us to discuss the latest innovations, identify best practice, meet with collaborators, and build networks with historical Hobart and beautiful Kunanyi (Mt Wellington) as a backdrop.
Conference location
The Conference will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, located on the Hobart waterfront. With spectacular views over constitution dock, the hotel is within easy walking distance of Hobart’s famous restaurants and attractions.
Tasmania and Hobart offer the potential for post-conference field trips or travel. From sampling the fresh produce at the Salamanca markets, diving with seadragons or endangered handfish, visiting the world-renowned Mona museum, to hiking the Tasmanian wilderness in search of elusive devils, there will be something for all delegates to enjoy before or after the conference.
Please watch this space for further information and announcements and follow the updates on the conference.
The organising committee looks forward to welcoming you to Hobart in February 2023.
