Abstract:

With our partners, CSIRO's National Biodiversity DNA Library (NBDL) continues to scale to meet the reference material needs of Australia's eDNA community. Over a year since portal launch, the NBDL is now publicly serving whole mitochondrial genomes of thousands of marine vertebrates, marine invertebrates, macroalgae, seagrasses, marine pests, birds, reptiles and plant pests from expertly identified specimens in Australia's museums and herbaria. Here we share the progress of new data campaigns, insights from the first year of the portal, and invite discussion from the community on future focal taxa and features.
